VIZIO announced the launch of its all-new VIZIO SmartCast audio offerings, the new versatile VIZIO SmartCast Crave Pro and Crave 360 Speakers. Both speakers integrate Google Cast and are being positioned as an alternative to Sonos, the leader in multi-room audio.
With the metal high-quality aluminum designs and fabric-wrapped mesh, both speakers are quite handsome and minimalist.
Both the Crave 360 and Crave Pro are finished with a satin alloy while their dials have wear-resistant glass touch surfaces. Users need to tap the speaker’s dial to play or pause an audio track, while swiping it’ll skip the track. Twisting the dial adjusts volume.
VIZIO SmartCast Crave Pro Speaker:
The Crave Pro is a more traditional 2.1 music speaker that is likely to remain wherever you put it in the home. It gets a little louder than the 360 at 102 dB, and dual subwoofers mean the bass response should be superior as well. Both the devices feature a nice satin aluminum finish, so from a design perspective, they are definitely a step up from most Bluetooth speakers. And each has a glass touch dial which can be turned for volume or tapped and swiped for playback controls.
VIZIO SmartCast Crave 360 Speaker:
The Crave 360 is best thought of as an upscale UE Boom, with 360-degree, omnidirectional 2.1 audio and ‘custom-crafted drivers’ which can output up to 95dB of sound. When removed from its wireless charging base, the VIZIO Crave 360’s internal battery can last up to eight hours; there’s even an attached leather carrying strap. But the Crave 360 isn’t waterproof, so while nothing is stopping you from taking it into the backyard, you will want to bring it back inside at the first sign of rain.
The VIZIO SmartCast Crave 360 is available now via the Vizio website and Sam’s Club, and sells for $250. The VIZIO SmartCast Crave Pro is coming soon, and it will sell for $300.
