Xiaomi Redmi 4, the latest budget smartphone from the Chinese smartphone maker is now official. Xiaomi Redmi 4 comes in two versions – Standard version and a Pro version. The company also introduced low-cost variant called Redmi 4A.

The Standard version, on the outside and under the surface, is mostly a carbon copy of Redmi 4A, except for a few key differences. For example, whereas the latter does not feature a fingerprint sensor, a rear-mounted scanner can be found on the former. Furthermore, the Standard version steps up to the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 and a 4,100mAh power pack.

Xiaomi Redmi 4 Design:

The phone features a design similar to the existing Redmi series with a unibody aluminium casing and a fingerprint scanner placed below the rear camera. Xiaomi has tweaked the antenna design a bit, as now it seems to be less intrusive. The volume rocker and power button are placed at the right hand side.

Xiaomi Redmi 4 Features:

Both the Xiaomi Redmi 4 variants feature a 5-inch display. The Standard version gets 720p HD panel, while the Pro version offers a full HD display. The Standard variant is powered by a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 processor, while the Pro variant gets Snapdragon 625 chipset. The two variants differ in terms of memory. The Standard variant gets 2GB RAM/16GB storage, while the Pro variant offers 3GB RAM and 32GB memory.

Xiaomi Redmi 4 Camera:

Both the variants of Xiaomi Redmi 4 feature a 13MP main camera with f/2.2 aperture and 5 element lens. The phones also support phase detection autofocus along with HDR mode and facial recognition. Xiaomi Redmi 4 sports a 5MP front camera along with beauty mode and support for countdown selfie.
